ROHANA FARMS

Puan Rohana grows cucumbers and lemongrass on his land in Bukit Tinggi - crops bound for local markets and wholesale buyers. His farm is practical, grounded, and focused on what works. With a wide variety of buyers, quality has to be assured with diversified options. Thus, crop diversification and rotation are the primary priorities.

A crop sequence of cucumber -> legume cover -> lemongrass -> mulch-supported recovery phase was recommended to farmer Rohana. In conjunction with compost and lime application, the goal is to improve nutrient precision and maintain main cash crops’ productivity.

Rohana Farm’s transition will not be an easy journey, but farmer Rohana’s willingness to phase out chemical inputs will surely prove worthwhile in the near future.
