Program Pertanian Berkelanjutan Cikananga (PPBC)

Positioning PPBC as a farmer-centered agroecology training hub, this project aims to strengthen regenerative agriculture and habitat restoration through community-led agroecology at the Cikananga Wildlife Centre.

Farmers in Sukabumi face declining soil fertility, rising chemical input costs, increasing pest pressure, and growing climate variability, all of which heavily undermine smallholder productivity and economic stability.

Many remain dependent on chemical-intensive systems with limited crop diversity, while access to practical, field-based training in regenerative alternatives remains highly restricted.

Over an 18-month period, the project will deliver 4 training cohorts to 100 smallholders (representing 12–24 local farmer groups) across a structured 12-session program. Participants will gain hands-on training from experienced Indonesian practitioners, and demonstration plots will show farmers a real-world conservation setting where soil regeneration directly cuts synthetic dependencies.
