MUHD AMMAR BIN ISMAIL
Pahang, Malaysia
Farmer: Muhd Ammar Bin Ismail
Ammar grows cucumber and eggplant on 5 acres in Bukit Tinggi. What makes his farm unique is its stability. Unlike sites dealing with urgent erosion or severe degradation, this land offers a controlled, well-managed baseline.
However, similar to nearby farms, his farm is also on a slight slope which exposes him to potential soil loss during extreme weather conditions. Apart from compost application, it is recommended to establish runoff buffers and surface protection strips, and to apply contour cover and mulch to minimize runoff and soil loss risk and to increase moisture and nutrient retention.
With this farm, we're focused on understanding how small, incremental shifts in practice can gradually improve soil function and input efficiency—all while keeping cucumber and eggplant yields stable for market.
